Katie Resnick joined Dore Rothberg Law as an associate in the litigation, bankruptcy, and collections practice areas. Prior to joining DRL, she completed a federal clerkship with Judge Mark X. Mullin in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas, where she gained experience in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 cases and developed deep insight into the nuances of debtor and creditor rights.
Katie earned her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center and her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University. Gig ’em! Before attending law school, she worked in the White Collar Division of the United States Attorney’s Office.
Katie is well known for her passions outside of work, particularly her love of animals. She was a member of Texas A&M’s national championship equestrian team and later spent a year as a head collegiate equestrian coach. She now brings that passion into her legal career as chair of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Animal Welfare Committee, where she was named “One to Watch” in January 2025 in recognition of her success leading the committee.
On weekends, you can find Katie volunteering at local animal shelters and horseback riding. She is excited to launch DRL’s new Animal and Equine Law practice and looks forward to connecting with new and current clients on the legal issues that arise at the intersection of animals, horses, and the law.
