The firm known today as Doré Rothberg Law, PLLC was founded in 1990 by attorney Carl Doré, who spent over a decade as a petroleum engineer before beginning his legal career. Founded on Carl’s expertise in oil and gas law, the firm has since expanded organically to address other needs of our clients both within and outside the energy industry. Carl and his wife, Tamra, have also owned Katy Budget Books, a local Katy-area independent bookstore, for nearly 40 years. Carl’s experience with the oil and gas sector and passion for small businesses have fueled the firm since its inception.
Like our founder, many of the firm’s attorneys bring to the table not only legal knowledge, but a wealth of practical experience from prior careers in business and industry. Our diverse, well-rounded team has both the legal knowledge and real-world insights to address our clients’ current needs and achieve their future goals.
The foundation for Doré Rothberg’s growth and enduring success has been the values around which the firm was built.
We are trained as attorneys, but we see ourselves, first and foremost, as problem-solvers. Our clients rely on us to leverage our knowledge of the law to help them solve business and financial problems—and prevent future problems from arising.
If you do things the same way you’ve always done, you’ll continue to get what you’ve always gotten. At Doré Rothberg, we respect tradition, but we are always on the lookout for a better way to serve our clients’ needs in an evolving legal landscape.
Business is built on relationships, and relationships are built on trust. Many of the firm’s clients have been with us for decades because they know they can trust us to put their interests first—not just in the short term, but for the long haul. Our team knows the value of keeping their word and will always provide candid and honest advice to our clients. We don’t cut corners and maintain the highest ethical and professional standards.
Doré Rothberg has always valued diversity not for appearance’s sake, but because we have learned that team members with different backgrounds bring a broader range of perspectives and strengths to the table. That enables us to provide more comprehensive advocacy for our clients.
Whether our client's legal matter is personal or business-related, it’s a priority to them. By responding promptly when a client has a question or concern, we show our clients that their needs are a priority to us, too.
Doré Rothberg emphasizes community both within and outside the firm. By cultivating a close-knit community within the firm, we can better serve the local communities that have supported our growth and that we and our clients call home. We live this out by being actively involved in many community organizations (Houston Food Bank, Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County, Fortress Youth Development Center, Aggie Women Network, The Downtown Group) and bar associations (Houston Bar Association, Houston Young Lawyers Association, Tarrant County Bar Association, the Texas Aggie Bar Association).
Most of Doré Rothberg’s clients come to us by referral—either colleagues who know and respect our work, or other clients who have benefited from it. We invite you to learn more about our team and our services, and to contact us to learn more about how we can help you.
