What am I getting when I pay for a consultation?

When you schedule our $250 consultation, you are reserving dedicated time with an attorney who actively practices in the specific area of law relevant to your matter. This is not a general intake call or a preliminary screening—it is a focused 30-minute meeting designed to provide specific guidance.

During your consultation, the attorney will:

  • Listen to the facts of your situation
  • Ask clarifying questions to fully understand your goals and concerns
  • Provide an initial assessment of your matter
  • Discuss potential legal strategies and next steps
  • Answer your specific questions

Our goal is for you to leave the consultation with clarity, direction, and a better understanding of your options.

Is the consultation fee refundable?

Consultation fees are not refundable, as they compensate the attorney for their time and professional analysis.

If, after the consultation, both you and our firm mutually decide to move forward with representation and an engagement agreement is signed, your consultation fee will be credited toward your retainer.

Can you quote me a cost without a consultation?

We understand that cost is an important consideration when securing the services of a firm; however, legal matters are rarely one-size-fits-all. Even situations that appear similar on the surface can vary significantly based on facts, timeline, opposing parties, and overall objectives.

Because of this reality, we do not provide quotes without first conducting a consultation. The consultation allows us to:

Does scheduling a consultation guarantee that DRL will take my case?

No. A consultation allows both you and the firm to determine whether this is a matter which is best fit to be handled by our team. No attorney-client relationship is created until an engagement letter is signed and the applicable retainer is paid.

Can consultations be conducted in Spanish?

Yes. We have attorneys and paralegals who are fluent in Spanish and are able to conduct consultations entirely in Spanish.
