Carl Doré founded our firm in 1990 as a solo venture.

For 35 years, we have grown, adapted, and risen to meet each challenge. As a petroleum engineer turned lawyer, Carl’s focus has consistently remained on the oil and gas industry—specifically, oil and gas services companies.

In 2025, Doré Rothberg Law celebrates 35 years of serving our wonderful clients, friends, and community.

We have grown exponentially from Carl’s solo operation to a 16-attorney firm handling complex issues involving oil and gas, business, contracts, intellectual property, estate planning, trusts, and probate. We work with numerous clients across the country, and our offices in Houston and Fort Worth continue to grow.

We have since added Lisa Rothberg and Brent Doré as shareholders to help build toward the next 35 years of success. In 2025, we promoted Connor Smith, Alyna Caesar-Ayure, and Mike Gilmore to the title of Senior Associates. The firm set new records in 2023 and 2024, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds.

Regardless of the industry, issue, or client, one thing has always defined the firm: Problem-Solving.

This blog represents another new era for DRL; yes, we understand a blog is not exactly new technology, but we intend to use it to create updated resources for current clients, connect with new clients, and highlight the incredible team that makes DRL thrive.
