Lisa Rothberg joined the firm in 2012. She earned her law degree from South Texas College of Law and was admitted to practice in Texas in 2010. Lisa earned her undergraduate degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Texas A&M University in 2006.
Lisa began her legal career as an oil and gas title attorney and now focuses on complex commercial business transactions in the energy, construction, and real estate industries. Lisa’s practice involves the analysis, preparation, and perfection of security interests in both real and personal property, with a specialty in perfecting security interests in oil, gas, and alternative energy properties. She files lien claims on behalf of contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers throughout the country and is familiar with the procedural nuances that exist from state to state, in addition to complex issues involving lien priority and waiver. Lisa also has substantial experience in business bankruptcy matters, particularly in the energy industry, including analyzing and determining priority disputes for creditors and on behalf of unsecured creditor committees.
Lisa’s energy practice includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating documents for property owners, oilfield service companies, drilling contractors, and E&P companies. She has negotiated and drafted oil and gas leases and assignments, purchase sale agreements, joint operating agreements, farmouts, master service agreements, production sharing agreements, drilling contracts and title opinions. Lisa also handles real estate matters, such as title and escrow, real estate contracts, deeds, leases, HOA issues, boundary disputes, easements, and wrongful liens. Lisa currently leads the transactional section for the firm.
Lisa was born and raised in Houston. When not working, Lisa enjoys traveling, volunteering, and spending time with her daughter, Peyton.
